USAMA BIN LADEN IS MUSLIM HERO

How confusing! Many Muslims say Osama bin Laden wasn't a Muslim, but now we see Muslim groups holding signs declaring that bin Laden is their hero and vowing revenge for his death. So which is it? Islamic extremists are Muslims, or they aren't? Where are the Muslim protests around the world declaring bin Laden does not represent their religion? All I see are Muslim's vowing revenge.

"The blood of the holy warrior sheik, Usama bin Laden, God bless him, is too precious to us and to all Muslims to go in vain," the statement said. "We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries."

"Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness," it said, "their blood will be mingled with their tears."

I really wish Middle Eastern countries would live in peace with themselves, their neighbors, and the world. But if the above photo and the daily headlines of their endless murderous hatred in the name of their god is all they've got....then I'm for what you suggested.

Did you ever think that this is their original plan, letting us bleed economically until death. They know that no matter how many terror attacks they do, it won't kill the whole nation, but making us bleed economically, in our attempt to engage in a war against them will kill us!

I do know about the radicals attempt to collapse our economy, and I wish we could people to see how this administration is trying to do exactly that as well. It is everything they do, not just with national security, but with their out-of-control spending, money wasted on stimuluses and gov't programs that failed miserably. Not to mention the healthcare bill that will end up costing us more for health insurance than we already pay. Seems the gov't and the radicals have the same agenda.

So we should have dropped nukes on millions of innocent people in Afghanistan and Iraq while chasing after AT MOST a couple of thousand militants? All while disregarding the fact that we are NOT at war with the people or the governments of Afghanistan or Iraq? You people are too much!!

Larry I guess you missed the added counts of bodies found a year later while still removing what was left of the towers and the numbers of families who were paid in excess of a million dollars each for their loss(es).

And they are still trying to identify remains that still have no names! So yes over 3,000+ !!

And yes I'd have dropped nukes over Afghanistan and Iraq...

Drop flyer's from jets giving 72 hours notice so the "innocence" can leave, those remaining well it's their lives that will be nuked!

I'd have much rather it be them than the thousands of lives WE lost fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq!

You would play directly into the hands of the radicals by doing so, forever driving a wedge between the US and any Middle East country.

The smallest reaction would be sanctions including a halt of oil shipments to the US.

The biggest reaction would be every nation of the world that doesn't have a nuclear deterrent seeking nukes at any cost and countries like North Korea and Pakistan would sell those nations nukes for humanitarian reasons.

The message you would send would be whoever doesn't have nukes is going to get nuked if they don't get them fast.

Do you really want to live in that world or are you just venting?

I think there are a lot of people who share Ann Barnhardt's frame of mind. But in reading the death threat against her I'd almost bet the person who wrote it is NOT a Muslim, but rather someone from the Southern states. I've never heard of a Muslim using the term "Ya'll". Nonetheless, she (Ms. Barnhardt) does sound like a person I wouldn't want to piss off.

In reality, that death threat sounds more like your run of the mill every day Troll jibberish. :)

I've never heard of a Muslim using the term "Ya'll".

I used to think that "y'all" was strictly a southern expression, but I've heard it used in rap music and from all kinds of people on TV. More than likely the Muslim probably thought Colorado was in the south and thought he was speaking her language.

In the US Muslims are on the whole applauding the efforts of taking out Osama Bin Laden. In the Middle East it is much more varied. A lot of people don't even care. A small minority believe it is a great injustice and he shall be avenged. Others think it was a victory for peace. The minority view has a highway to our hearts however and that is why it is so easily picked up by western media. Peace as a message never gets the PR that death and destruction do.

Jesus H Christ Elaine you are already on the Internet. Google is but a few keystrokes away, but I guess it is more convenient to ignore the facts right in front of your face and write up a NV article.

      In Seattle

      From Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf

      From CAIR

      In California

Im done doing the legwork for you. Why dont you take the necessary 5 minutes to Google these things yourself and you will see scores of articles, statements, and blogs from Muslims expressing relief that bin Laden is gone, from everyday Muslim-Americans to leaders of foriegn nations.

The photo merely confirms what we already knew: that there are extremists who liked bin Laden and thought of him as a hero. Of course al Queda is going to think of him as a hero! What it does NOT do is support your assertion that there is a lack of Muslim leaders expressing gratitiude that bin Laden in dead or that he is some sort of "Muslim Hero".

This seed is utterly ridiculous. It must be nice to operate in some sort of fantasy world where the only facts that exist are the ones that support our preconceived ideas about people.

1 photo vs 12 links...? Now you can grab as many links as you want and we can have a pissing contest... something I'd rather avoid.

Point being there is going to be a mixed bag of responses. It is contingent upon the individual not the religion. Just like terrorism is contingent upon the individual or group not a religion. This is not an issue that is contingent upon Islam but is contingent upon the people and their circumstances, plain and simple.

If I had started the pissing contest I would have posted the article.

Also for every time someone puts up one side of the story the other side should be told. It's being fair and balanced.

Your assertion that there are more examples of Muslim terrorism than any other type is one that is not founded in fact. There are christian terrorists, nationalist terrorists, and just crazy terrorists. Terrorism is a tactic. Joseph Stack here in the US was a terrorist. Anyone who uses violence to reach a political goal is a terrorist by definition. Terrorism has been used since the dawn of mankind; we have simply changed the definition over time. The only reason we think muslims are the main perpetrators is because that is where we are internationally in the highest concentration... because of oil and natural resources. Throughout history terrorism has been used by christians muslims jews buddhists nations and people in general. Among all those groups on average if one could account for every terrorist attack throughout time they would be all within 1-5% of each other.

It's amazing how quickly we forget our own history... How about McVeigh or Kazinsky or how about the IRA. How about all of the abortion doctors that have been killed in the name of Christ. There are just as many christians in the world who are crazy as there are muslims. There are some even in our backyards... don't believe me... watch Jesus Camp

      http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0486358/

It's all too easy to stereotype and objectify one large group of people because some of them are crazy. Look at Pat Robertson calling for the assassination of world leaders and claiming Haiti made a pact with the devil etc etc and that's why they had that massive earthquake. Religion is manipulated for power, that is all this is, and to claim anything else is false and/or disingenuous.

Great seed Elaine.....Very eye opening. I've learned recently that, many on the left will defend Jihad as a principle of 'free speach'. Wow, somewhere along the way from the 60's, they forgot to reform their thinking. Times have changed, and the freedoms we all enjoyed then, have morphed into blind protectionism. Interesting, the modern day far leftist is stuck in there past, just as the Medieval Religious Code called Islam, is stuck in the 12th century.

In my opinion, Bin Laden is a hero to many Muslims. Many may not admit it publicly, but I think there is a hard wired affection for him, considering they are seriously lacking in positive global leadership.

Thanks Braveheart, the death of Osama the coward has been eye opening indeed! After 9/11, I thought Islamic terrorists were ruthless warrior types, but have learned they are the opposite! The brainwashed devotees will give up their lives by suicide, but their leaders hide in ivory towers, drinking cokes, having lots of sex with several 'wives', play American video games and live the good life! Then when the 'fearless' (sarcasm in the extreme!) terrorist leader is confronted by real men, he shoves a defenseless woman at them! OMG what an eye opener!

It seems nobody is really addressing the writers question.

"So which is it? Islamic extremists are Muslims, or they aren't?"

Of course it's both, they are Muslim's, only bad ones. Just because they are extremists does not imply that they are not part of their religion. Just as extrem christians are part of their faith, again bad ones. I do though agree it would be great if Muslim leaders here especially, and abroad could take a more strong visible stand on the message against extremism. I suggest a large support rally in DC to show their support. It would send a great signal to the rest of America and the Muslim world, and I bet the two could move closer and show unity. Political correctness can be counter productive for progress.

Bin Laden is a hero to many as he drew attention to the plight of Palestinians whose land continues to be stolen by illegal Israeli settlements. Only the US has failed to support the U.N. declaration that these settlements are illegal.

And we wonder why Muslims hate America. IT IS BECAUSE OF OUR SUPPORT OF ISRAEL.

You should probably brush up on your history of the Middle East before sharing your anti-Israel propaganda. It's easy to look up There's one with pictures:

      Jimmy Carter's war on Jews

How many plights can we take on at once? America is broke and our country's in trouble. What about the plight of Americans?

Israel is the closest government to ours. The radical islamic extremists, poised and ready for takeover as the ME is in constant chaos these days, are the ones who want to kill all Jews and eveyone in the US, or at least anyone who doesn't follow their religion!

      Anti-semite, eh?

That's what most anti-Semites believe, as well as the radical extremists, here and in the ME, except you want them to come out and play, and they want us all dead.

I'm not jewish, but my spouse is and we embrace both judeo-christian values and holidays and traditions. And we're right proud of that!

The leftists who cry 'hater' and 'racist' and 'bigot' if someone so much as laughs at the size of a Rosie O'Donnell or Oprah Winfrey, are using Stein as if it's a dirty word.

What kind of liberal are you pretending to be? I thought you had compassion for all races and religions? My mistake.

Name the countries that condemn Israel, willya?

The UN? Well, now I believe it...yeah right!

Actually I think it's their laws that tell the extremists who to hate and want to kill, anyone who is not one of them.

What is says about the US is that we know our history and who that land belongs to...given to them many, many, many years ago by you-know-who!

You didn't answer my question: What kind of liberal are you, that you would speak the way you do about other people? I thought that wasn't in the leftists' playbook?

Your ignorance was already showing, mask or no. It works for me, and apparently pretending to be a loving compassion liberal worked for you...until now.

      She's this kind of liberal:

Israel has hijacked American foreign policy.

Israel continues its illegal settlements only because it has the tacit support of America.

We deserved 911 and we deserve everything that al qaeda will do in the future unless we condemn Israel's ongoing unrelenting theft of arab land and make them give it all back.

Call me a Pollyanna, but I think many will rethink their position when confronted with the videos of Bin Ladin's last years. While he was exhorting others to sacrifice their children, he was living in a very comfortable house. All the while eating well, plus a never ending supply of Coke and Pepsi. Hopefully our government will keep that information available 24/7.

For me, Al Qaeda and especially Osama bin Laden have been de-mystified by the death of bin Laden. Viewing into his life of self indulgence shows he was nothing more than a coward and a liar.

Thanks for the article, voted up. Muslims are often quiet and peaceful peoples, those who are not raging with these things happening now. May think other way than those in the photo, but decide not to mention it by that way.

Tell the people who made the banner in the photo that we changed his name to Usama bin Laden so Americans would stop mispronouncing our dear leader's name as Osama and President Osama. LOL
